Differential Mounts
This is a high-strength front mount for the differential used in the 240Z, 260Z, and 280Z.
When accelerating, the differential on Z-cars is subjected to a huge amount of torque. Because the stock differential mount is from the bottom, the rubber pulls rather than compresses as the differential travels forward during acceleration. Even with a stock engine, Datsun knew that the differential's movement needed to be regulated, thus a strap was attached to keep it from sliding too far up. The stock car's differential mount is overstressed as power is increased. Furthermore, if you upgrade to a stronger differential (such as an R200), the factory limiting strap will no longer fit.
