Oil Line Kits

The oil you pour into the top of the engine travels through a number of pathways before ending up in the bottom oil pan, which is also known as the sump and contains the drain stop. Only one path, under pressure, can carry the oil via a variety of paths on its way to the bottom.

A loose-weave metal screen is seen at the bottom of a tube in Figure 1. The pickup tube that connects the screen to the oil pump directly. About four inches of the tube and screen are submerged in the oil. The screen keeps large garbage particles out of the oil pump, typically smaller than 1/32nd of an inch.
