Surface Cleaners

Surface cleaning is a crucial manufacturing step that helps to remove contaminants from manufacturing processes like cutting or polishing fluids and particles, mould release agents, polymer processing aids, airborne contamination, etc. in addition to reducing the bioburden (living organisms) before sterilisation. These can have an adverse effect on a device's biocompatibility and further processing, such as corrosion resistance and coating adhesion or bonding between two surfaces.

Aqueous surfactant solutions with/without acids or organic solvents are frequently used in conventional cleaning processes to dissolve and remove contaminants. Additionally, ultrasound can be employed. These techniques do, however, have certain drawbacks. For instance, even after numerous rinses, aqueous surfactants may still leave residues. Additionally, organic solvents may leave harmful residues.
