Fuel Injectors - Diesel
In a diesel engine, fuel injectors are tiny electrical parts that spray gasoline into the intake manifold just in front of the intake valve. Diesel fuel injectors are quite intricate; the bottom of the injector includes tiny hypodermic-sized holes for the atomization of the diesel fuel and a high micron filter on the top intake side. The injector's interior components are lubricated by the diesel fuel. Water in the fuel is the major cause of injector failure. The interior elements of the injector can swiftly deteriorate and eventually fail if water in the fuel displaces the lubricating qualities.
When the cylinders nearest to the injectors have a better mixture than the ones farthest away, throttle spray injection becomes inefficient. By pumping the same quantity of gasoline into each engine cylinder, the port style of injection eliminates this issue.
